      To keep the lights on.

      ^ That’s essentially why I think it’s important. If we can’t get power where it’s needed in the UK there will be serious problems. I think nuclear power is the only energy source that is both low carbon and capable of matching the huge demand in a reliable way. However, nuclear power is not the answer to the UK’s energy problems. What we really need is electricity generated from a variety of sources – gas and wind included.
