@tasha: I think the best bit is doing something that is fun to do. I am constructive but not an artist (the only painting I do is decorating the house!) and so making things work I find enjoyable. At the moment I am doing a project that is being built in the South of France and the travel is fun as long as it is not too often. At the moment it is fine as I seem to go there about twice per year, which is great. Thanks for the question. Robin
I like the problem solving – especially when it’s a really big difficult problem and I have no idea how to solve it. When you start making progress and realise that maybe it is possible to solve after all it feels really good. I also love the variety I get – some design, some experiments, some interpretation of results, some mathematical modelling on a computer, some presenting my work to others – I even get to teach some of the younger uni students how to do some of the lab experiments.
