      I did a MEng in Electronic Engineering. I also worked for a year in industry between studies.

      Electronic engineering is quite different to electrical engineering (this depends on whether you live outside the USA). Electronic engineering is concerned with harnessing electricity to process information. This “information” could be calculations, images, sounds, text, etc. Electrical engineering tends to stick with power transmission and distribution.
