Fusion on earth happens in a very low pressure gas which is heated and heated till it is ten times hotter than the centre of the sun and then fusion happens. The vacuum vessel, surrounded by magnetic fields becomes a magnetic bottle for containing the hydrogen which is becoming helium and releasing huge amounts of heat energy.
