I am very concerned about the effect of Global climate change. There are a lot of people in the world and we are on the limit of growing enough food at the moment. If the climate changes this could have a dire effect on the amout of food we could grow somewhere.
A fusion reactor would reduce the amount of oil, coal and gas we burn to make electricity, so that woujd be really good for the environment.

I think we all have a responsibility to use our knowledge and skills to more efficiently use the worlds natural resources and minimise our impact on climate change. As well as working in the oil and gas industry to make the process more safe and reliable (and reduce environmental impact), we are trying to support the development of marine renewable technologies to help them develop to reliable, sustainable and effective sources of energy that can be are real alternative to oil, gas, etc.

All engineers are very worried about the environment. We have a kind of code written by the UK’s Engineering Council, who are a bunch of experienced and wise people. The code says that engineers must demonstrate a personal and professional commitment to the environment.
